Read the Story
Long ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, there lived a baby Brachiosaurus named Tiny. Despite his name, Tiny was already quite big compared to most animals, but among his family of giant long-necked dinosaurs, he was indeed tiny.
One sunny morning, while Tiny's family was eating breakfast from the tallest trees, a sudden thunderstorm rolled in. The wind howled fiercely, and heavy rain poured down. In all the confusion, Tiny became separated from his family. By the time the storm passed, he found himself alone in an unfamiliar part of the forest.
"Mom? Dad?" Tiny called, his voice echoing through the trees. But there was no answer. Tiny felt scared and alone, but he knew he had to be brave and find his way back home.
As Tiny began his journey, he came across a small furry creature with a bushy tail. It was a prehistoric squirrel named Scurry.
"You look lost," Scurry said, scampering up to Tiny's foot.
"I am," Tiny sighed. "I got separated from my family in the storm, and now I can't find my way home."
"I know these woods well," Scurry offered. "I can help you look."
Though Scurry was tiny compared to Tiny, his knowledge of the forest proved invaluable. He led Tiny through shortcuts and pointed out landmarks.
As they traveled, they met a colorful feathered dinosaur named Plume who was also alone.
"My flock flew away when the storm hit," Plume explained. "I injured my wing and couldn't keep up."
"You can join us," Tiny offered. "We can help each other."
Plume had excellent eyesight and could spot dangers from afar. With Scurry's knowledge of the terrain and Plume's sharp eyes, the unusual trio made good progress.
Next, they encountered Splash, a small aquatic reptile who had been washed away from his pond by the storm floods.
"I need to find water soon," Splash explained, his scales starting to look dry.
Tiny gently lifted Splash onto his back. "You can ride with us until we find a pond."
Splash could sense water from great distances and directed them toward a river that Tiny recognized. "This river flows past my family's home!" Tiny exclaimed excitedly.
The friends followed the river until they reached a familiar valley. There, in the distance, Tiny could see his family searching for him. With a happy trumpet from his long neck, Tiny called out to them.
Tiny's parents were overjoyed to see him safe. They were amazed at the unusual friends he had made along the way.
"Your friends are welcome to stay with us," Tiny's mother offered.
Scurry built a nest in a tree near the family's sleeping area. Plume's flock was located in a nearby meadow, and she rejoined them but visited often. Splash found a perfect pond just a short distance away.
"Sometimes getting lost helps you find new friends," Tiny said that evening as they all watched the sunset together.
And Tiny's parents agreed that although different creatures might look unusual together, the best friendships come from helping each other and being kind, no matter how different you might seem.
