Read the Story
Little bunny Milly never wanted to go to bed. Every night, when Mom said, "It's bedtime!" Milly would say, "Just five more minutes!" Then "Just three more minutes!" And finally "Just one minute!"
One night, as Milly was tossing and turning in bed, a soft blue light shone through her window. To her surprise, she saw a tiny, glowing fairy standing on her windowsill!
"Hello, Milly!" the fairy said with a smile. "I'm Star, the sleep fairy and guardian of the night sky."
Milly rubbed her eyes. "How do you know my name?"
"I know all children who don't like to sleep," Star said. "Would you like to go on an adventure with me? I want to show you something special."
Milly nodded and gently took Star's hand. In an instant, they flew out the window and into the sparkling night sky.
"Look," Star pointed below, "when children sleep, the whole world rests and recharges its energy."
Milly saw trees gently nodding, streams softly humming, and even her favorite toys taking a rest.
"Everything and everyone needs rest," Star explained. "Sleep makes us stronger, smarter, and happier!"
"Really?" Milly asked in surprise.
"Of course!" Star nodded. "And when you go to bed on time, we sky guardians give you beautiful dreams."
Star took Milly flying over a dream garden filled with rainbow slides, talking animals, and chocolate rivers.
"Can I see all this in my dreams?" Milly's eyes widened.
"As long as you develop healthy sleep habits," Star said. "Go to bed on time, drink warm milk before sleeping, listen to soft music, and these dreams will come to you."
By the time they returned to Milly's room, she was already yawning.
"I think I'm ready for bed now," she said, rubbing her eyes.
"Wonderful!" Star tucked her in. "Remember, bedtime at 8 o'clock every night, and I'll be watching you from the night sky."
From that day on, Milly looked forward to bedtime. She developed her own bedtime routine: bath, brushing teeth, listening to Mom's stories, and going to bed on time. She no longer bargained for more playtime because she knew that only with good sleep would the sky guardian bring her beautiful dreams.
And whenever Milly drifted off to sleep, Star would smile outside her window, happy that another child had learned to love bedtime.
